Total Chinese tariffs applied exclusively to US: US$110 billion
Latest Update:
President Xi Jinping addressed world leaders at the Belt to Road forum in Beijing on Friday, April 26th about plans to resolve a variety of issues at the core of the U.S. – China trade dispute.
The Chinese domestic reforms that President Jinping spoke about in his speech include: pledging to address state subsidies; protecting intellectual property rights; allowing foreign investment in more sectors; and avoiding competitive devaluation of the yuan.
Some analysts feel that this is a strong indication of the U.S. and China finally reaching a trade deal in the coming weeks.
High level talks between senior U.S. and Chinese officials are scheduled to resume during the first two weeks of May.
